Internship Description: The Social Media Marketing Intern will manage the social media marketing efforts of our company and of our partner companies. You will be responsible for growing our “likes” on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram or LinkedIn and increasing engagement and conversions. You will manage the conversations, identify and nurture key influencers, provide input on and manage campaigns and maintain daily activities.
Our unique and proprietary system, that you will learn and implement, is proven to take fans and followers and turn them into paying customers. Having these knowledge and skills will allow you to help any company you work with in the future to develop a highly effective social media program that makes them money, which is what all employers want. You will be a very attractive job candidate for future employers.
You will learn to:

- Convert prospects to paying clients/customers.
- Manage daily tasks, weekly, monthly tasks
- Use social media and digital marketing tools
This internship may include: helping to create content, grow the fan base and drive engagement. Responsibilities include writing posts, sorting through appropriate news alerts and scheduling posts to social media accounts. Perform daily maintenance tasks such as accepting friend requests, sending personalized messages, strategically growing friends & followers. Assist with content strategy and planning.
Ideal Candidate: No prior experience necessary – we will train you! We look for organized, detail-oriented, creative people who are great at relating to others. Please have excellent verbal and written communication skills in American English required. Knowledge of American culture and etiquette required. Comfort and proficiency with social media technology like email, the Internet, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram or Twitter (don’t need to know them all, just a few). Able to multi-task and work independently. You must be reliable, punctual, organized and able to ask questions and meet deadlines. Being adaptable to changes in projects and priorities are typical. A fast learner who is independent and self-motivated and can manage their time, is desired. Ability to work well in a team is desired.
- Able to commit a minimum of 30min-1hour daily (or able to divide that time among team members)
- Has own computer, cell phone, and other necessary equipment and software.
- Can work virtually. Has internet access. Can use Skype, online project management software, etc.
- Preference given to one with the ability to do multiple internships or continue after initial internship ends

If working on the EMC account, you will have exposure daily to business owners, executives and marketing professionals. If you work on the Clothing Account, you will communicate with health, fitness and Hollywood celebrities, consumer press, bloggers and everyday users of our products.
In addition, you’ll have high-level skills and responsibilities, as well as portfolio pieces, to add to your resume. If you are successful as an intern for us, you will receive a stellar letter of recommendation, contacts in the social media marketing world, and coaching each week to help you reach your professional goals. Everything you create (that is not confidential) will go in your professional portfolio. We will gladly help you arrange for academic credit. You will have first-hand knowledge of how to market your services as a freelancer.
Location: This is a virtual internship! You will work from home (or school, or Starbucks, or the library…or wherever).
Timeline: Immediately! Approximately 10 hours a week for 15 weeks; we are flexible and your internship is negotiable. We will work with you.
Compensation: This is an unpaid internship, but the experience is priceless!
